ABOUT THE ROLE

The Content Manager will drive the creation of compelling cross-channel content, identify of effective message placement, and enhance our US corporate reputation. This role will be an integral player in showcasing our leadership role in building communities among key stakeholder audiences including employees, customers, architects/engineers and environmental organizations. The right candidate for this role is an exceptional writer and editor who brings creative vision, strong project management, and a results-driven mindset to the table.

Working with internal and external collaborators, this role will plan, oversee, and execute a content strategy and plan that combines current digital/social media approaches, applies website best practices, connects with customers, and maximizes thought leadership opportunities.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Drive the development of high-quality, content that influences and educates key audiences by understanding robust distribution strategies and diverse formats (video, media releases, images, email/CRM, GIFs/animations, and SEO articles).

  • Create/oversee the creative development of binge-able content and campaigns across diverse channels including websites, social media channels/YouTube, industry landing pages, virtual events/webinars, and more.

  • Develop strong relationships with subject-matter experts, thought leaders, industry consultants, and customers to support content efforts.

  • Execute content projects from start to finish, including project management (kickoff, timelines, review), writing, researching (i.e. SEO keywords or subject matter), and editing content.

  • Collaborate with internal and external agency partners to create high-quality content, including the production of creative visual assets (photographs, videos, and infographics) and develop robust distribution plans and strategies for content assets.

  • Maximize the value and reach of our content by turning high-performing assets into a library of derivative pieces for use in multiple channels.

  • Research and test new content formats and channels to increase brand awareness and help generate corporate and product awareness.

  • Working with marketing colleagues, analyze and optimize website content to ensure that content generates traffic among target audiences. Prepare metrics reports and assist with analyzing success and opportunities for improvement.

  • Manage workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 8-10 years of equivalent experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Marketing, advertising, communications, journalism or related field

Required Work Experience: 8-10 years’ experience of proven content marketing experience, preferably in integrated communications, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field

Required Computer and Software Skills:

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Google Suite online content management systems (Pardot), and Hootsuite.

  • Familiar/comfortable with backend content management systems a plus (e.g. Word Press, AEM, Drupal)

Travel Requirements: 10-20%

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to set strategic and campaign-level KPIs, develop and implement performance measurement tools, have an understanding of and translate data into actionable recommendations

  • Proficiency with content analytics (SEM, DMP) best practices, strategic/tactical utilization, and ability to apply data to digital marketing campaigns

The right candidate for this role:

  • An exceptional writer with an editorial mindset and a strong ability to develop a content strategy, creative vision, and compelling stories customized for our audiences

  • Strong project management experience with complex, multi-step programs, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities

  • The position is in a high-volume, rapidly paced environment that requires problem-solving, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading both strategic development and tactical execution of content-related projects.

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and equal ability to work collaboratively with a team, cross-functionally and in senior leadership

  • Experience in external communications and issues management a plus

  • Comfort in leveraging analytics and performance metrics and provide guidance to the team to make decisions

  • Can provide samples of content, from editorial and creative approaches to the application of analytics (i.e., videos, infographics, web page content, e-books, blog posts, case studies, channel creation, emails, etc.)

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
