ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will be based at the Dundee Office and does not include relocation assistance or sponsorship.

The primary objective of this role is to provide critical business intelligence to Credit, Logistics & Sales for decision-making purposes in addition to providing support, tools, and training to maintain and build relationships with external customers.

The Sales Analyst role assists PL Commercial teams in the management of budgets and forecasts, including the review and explanation of monthly variances. The Analyst will manage system and ticketing errors resolving customer complaints to maintain market share.

The Analyst ensures effective reports are published regularly and analyzes the same to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in pricing, volume, and construction activity. He/she maintains market intelligence (competitor, customer, Holcim/internal) and implements effective processes to keep them current and accurate.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas

  • Internal Analysis: Responsible for accurate, on-time, and effective sales, logistics, and growth and innovation reports for regular distribution. Assists in the analysis of credit, sales & marketing and/or operational opportunities to improve results as well as perform detailed analysis of actual financial results to determine root causes of variances from budget and forecasts.

  • Market Size & Growth: Estimates total product and services consumed in defined market(s). Effectively utilizes internal and association reports to estimate market growth and trends affecting growth. Tracks key market indicators monthly and reports to stakeholders.

  • Competitors: Works closely with Commercial Teams to maintain a current database of competitor information and an assessment of competitor strengths and weaknesses. Routinely does competitive benchmarking.

  • Customers: Works with the PL Sales team to build and maintain relationships

  • Management Cycle & Strategy Formulation: Works closely with the team to incorporate the above activities into standard processes/deliverables as part of our ongoing management cycle and strategy review processes. This includes the SMART process, Marketing Plans, Strategic Framework, Systematic Pricing, Performance Plans, Budgets, and Forecasts.

  • Growth: Assists in the analysis of growth opportunities in new and existing markets. The analysis includes an estimation of market attractiveness (i.e. market size & growth, market indicators, market shares, and assessment of barriers to entry) and relative player position (i.e. production & logistics costs, quantity and quality of reserves).

  • Results/Accountabilities: Maintains a current detailed database of annual market size and composition (i.e. detailed competitor volumes, fixed plant volumes, and supply). Maintains a current detailed database of market indicators and sales results.

  • Owner of EOne / SAP Business Intelligence system to ensure effective and accurate sales reports are available to the market area.

  • Support the completion of the Marketing Plans, Strategic Frameworks, and Systematic Pricing analysis.

  • Ad-hoc analysis of sales & marketing risks and opportunities.

  • Participation in growth opportunities and associate market analysis.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience. years of equivalent experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Business or related field required

Required Work Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience is preferred

Required Computer and Software Skills: Ability to create maintain and manipulate tables of data in various forms (Excel, Access, SQL, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Python, SalesForce, CRM software, BI software, etc...). Working knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse (data analysis tool) is preferred. Experience with Dodge Network for project tracking and construction spend forecasting a plus.

Travel Requirements: 15 -25% of travel required for field visits
